Protecting IT Equipment from Construction Dust
IT Cleaning Ltd can enclose the IT Equipment or the work area. Then using air scrubbers, we will create a positive or negative pressure, which will ensure dust from the work area, can not migrate into the IT Equipment. By either keeping it out (enclosing IT equipment, positive pressure) or keeping it in the work area (enclosing Work area, negative pressure). High failure rates were encountered on PCBs and power supplies within data processing equipment in a large data processing centre in North East England. The problem was traced to small metallic particles of zinc being deposited on the PCBs and causing inter-track conduction. The source of the zinc was the galvanised coating on the underside of the raised floor tiles. Main Control Rooms (MCR). MCR cleaning is done on a 3 monthly cycle removing dust from the room and the equipment.
IT Cleaning Ltd are often asked to carry out server cleaning internally. This is need when a server is subjected to large amounts of dust, often from construction activities like drilling, whilst running.
IT Cleaning Ltd will remove the server from the rack. Then ensuring we are protected against static we will strip the server to its component parts. Remove fans, airways, disks and other removable items. We will then clean the server using HEPA filtered vacuums and specialist tools. Once we have completed the clean we will reassemble the server and put it back in its rack.
