Data Centre Cleaning Covid-19

IT Cleaning Ltd have invested in a fogging machine (water mist machine), for the cleaning of  none data hall areas like corridors etc., after suspected Covid-19 infection. We are able to offer a full fogging/misting service using a 1:24 dilution (deionized water) of a broad spectrum disinfectant, which, is effective against a wide range of viruses, and bacteria – full information can be given on request. The chemical is delivered as a fine water mist with droplets at 5.0µm (micron). This effectively kills all airborne, and any surface virus present in the room. After the droplets have settled we vacuum, and wipe to remove any reside. We would not recommend fogging in the Data Hall etc., as the chemicals used, have not been tested against how they interact with copper, silver and tin, these are the main metals used in PCB. An example in the case of copper, oxides are the main products of ClO2 (CHLORINE DIOXIDE) degradation and that the formation of byproducts should be carefully considered if copper is present, ClO2 increase copper oxidisation (creep), which can soon cause short circuits on the PCB. Chlorine Dioxide is often used in santising chemicals, as it is proven to kill SARS type viruses, including Covid-19. For data centres we would recommend cleaning with pre-impregnated cloths to wipe all surfaces after normal cleaning has been done.
